Final Draft: Green Beauty

It's been a long road to get here, but it's finally done. This is my magazine called Green Beauty. It is a magazine for young women interested in beauty and makeup while helping preserve our beautiful planet and its environment. I hope you enjoy it!

Post Production 2- Editing Feature Article

Since I lasted checked in, I've made a lot of progress. I have two selling lines on my front cover, and I debated the colors brown, green, and yellow. I decided on yellow because it pops out the best and doesn't blend into the background as brown and green did. I needed way more photos for my feature article because I wanted to make a picture border, as I mentioned in my last post. I had the word feature in the top corner of my feature article, but I decided to delete it because it was unnecessary. A couple of days ago, I went back to Ulta Beauty and took so many photos. I am currently editing them on VSCO with the same filter I used on the other pictures I already have imported onto my magazine. Once I finish editing them, I will import all of them into InDesign and create the picture border. This is the last thing I need to do, and then this final edit will finish my magazine. I'll check back in when I have my final draft!

Post Production 1- Making Peer Revised Edits

After receiving my peer review, I knew the changes I had to make to perfect my magazine. I made most of the changes my peers gave and then had my peers review it again. After discussing with them, I decided to make some more edits to ensure my magazine is the best possible product. I decided to move the two selling lines to the bottom corners of the magazine. I'm still debating what color I should do for the selling lines to pop out. I'm deciding between yellow, brown, and green. In my original draft, I had the month and year on the cover page. I then realized that the month and year should be on the front cover. So, I did precisely that and moved the month and year under the bottom right of my title on my cover page. On my content page, I changed all the page numbers to random numbers and took away the parentheses as advised by my peers. I also decided to leave my feature articles background white instead of yellow because it looked more clean and sharp. I deleted t...

Peer Review

Last week in class, I presented my magazine that I have been working on for the past couple of months in InDesign. I got mostly good feedback and then some critics that could benefit my magazine before my final submission. Some of the excellent feedback I got from peers was that they all loved my cover page picture, how my magazine was consistent with the color scheme and photos throughout, and how my content page was so organized. However, there is always room for improvement. Starting with my front cover, I should use a different font for my masthead, so it stands out. Since I have two selling lines, I should bring both of them under the title on either side rather than having one under the title and one at the bottom of the magazine. This is because the one selling line at the bottom of the page, while the other is under the title, could confuse a reader. The only critics I got for my content page was to remove the parentheses around the page numbers, make the num...
