Production 2- Interview & Front Cover

This past week I've been working on getting an interview. Now I am planning out the pictures I need to take for my magazine. The only picture I need to take is my front cover photo. I drew my front cover idea on my storyboard, and I'm trying to recreate that in real life. Since it's winter break, I have time to get the perfect photo. I will go to Micheals, a craft store, to buy all the supplies I need to create the ideal aesthetic eco-friendly beauty background for my front cover. I need to buy some fake yellow and pink flowers, some artificial green leaves, empty little plastic bottles, and a popsicle stick. I will arrange all of these aesthetically against a white background as I drew on my storyboard, which you can see in a previous post. I also finished the questions for my interview with Bloom Organics, and I'm editing them right now. I am planning on emailing them soon with the questions. Next week, I have to get the rest of the information I need from differ...

Production 1- Researching

Last week in class, I started researching local eco-friendly beauty places to find someone to interview for my feature article about how the beauty industry is becoming more Earth-friendly. I stumbled upon an eco-friendly beauty spa in my area called Bloom Organics. I wanted to talk to someone who works in this spa because I know they are educated in eco-friendly beauty and eco-friendly beauty products. I then emailed back and forth with the owner regarding the interview, my project, and what it's about. After many back and forth emails, she agreed to talk to me on the phone. I just needed to send her the questions I'm going to ask so she can prepare for the phone call interview. I am currently preparing the questions to send her via email, so I can schedule an official date and time to talk to her. I'm thinking the week after Christmas because everyone's ...

Storyboard

Image
Last week in class, we started storyboarding for our portfolio project. I've been working on a storyboard for an eco-friendly beauty and fashion magazine. It was a bit challenging at first because I had to figure out how to come up with a design for my front cover. I was stumped on that for a little while, and then I got some inspiration online and decided that I'm going to configure a bunch of different products, flowers, and leaves set all up in an aesthetically pleasing way on a white background. I'm going to set this up and take the photo myself. I love being creative, so I enjoyed the drawing and coloring elements. I also enjoyed exploring different fonts.. Being creative is vital in creating a successful magazine that will catch people's attention. While reading "Storyboard your way to success" I learned that educating yourself on creativity and the storyboarding process is key to creating a successful finished product. A storyboard can help you dev...
